Sam Hamill – The Translation & Publishing Work of Copper Canyon Press

The founding editor of the nation’s premier non-profit literary press, Sam Hamill, discusses the press, poetry, and the importance of an emphasis on translation to an American poetics.  He also touches on the Port Townsend Writer’s Conference and the life and work of poet Kenneth Rexroth, whose collected works Copper Canyon has published.  Hamill is the author of such books of poetry as Almost Paradise: Selected Poems & Translations and Dumb Luck, and the editor of numerous anthologies, including Poets Against the War.
