On August 18, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, I will again participate in what is becoming like a ritual for me, reading poems with Jim O’Halloran’s band at perhaps the best community garden in the city, Bradner Gardens. Jim sent this:
Outdoors, on the lawn! Bring chairs or a blanket, and a dinner.
Another great line-up: Jim O’Halloran, flutes; Jacques Willis, vibes; Dean Schmidt, bass; Larry Mahlis drums; and Denny Stern, percussion, with special guests Carletta Carrington Wilson and Paul Nelson, poets; and Elva Pope, vocals.
Watering can will be passed for donations for the musicians and performers. Sponsored by Friends of Bradner Gardens Park.
I have suggested this poem to read at the event. Jim will decide. This is such a delight for me and an honor to do it for so many years with my Subud Brother and the fine musicians (& singers & poets like Carletta) with whom he always surrounds himself. I hope to see you there.
