PAUL E NELSON

Cascadia Poetics Lab Board Member Jason Wirth and I are leading a clean-up of Chinook Beach Park on Friday, April 22 from 1-3pm. We will have some garbage bags and a couple of pickers, but feel free to bring some work gloves and help us keep this amazing pocket park happy. The Bigleaf Maple trees are budding and that fact has already shown up in my latest series of poems. Umami Kushi promises a few pan for the volunteers who help the cause. That they also serve saké there makes the after party especially enticing.

But THERE’S MORE! At 6pm the Jim O’Halloran Trio takes the stage at Kezira Ethiopian Café and two poets join the band, Greg Bem and your humble narrator. This is part of the World Tour for the new book Haibun de la Serna, which has been reviewed by Pablo Baler in a stunning manner. Stay tuned for that! & it’s always fun to see what horribly outdated picture of me Jim puts on the gig poster!
