End of the World Anthology

I’m delighted to have work in a new anthology entitled The End of the World Project. It was compiled by Richard Lopez, John Bloomberg-Rissman and T.C. Marshall and is so huge that it takes two books to contain it all:

The book is available as a pdf for FREE which is keeping with the general tone of responding to life in the late anthropocene, a condition brought about by unfettered capitalism (casino capitalism) and so the fewer trees chopped down the better, is how at least one contributor sees it.

I was stunned to learn that some of my Evolutionary Letters, written in response to Diane di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters are in the same book with hers! This is humbling to say the least. And while I have the pdf and have perused it, I look forward to getting the two solid volumes and holding them in my hand. Kudos to the editors, for their methods and for finding a good place in William Allegrezza’s Moria Books.

One of my Evolutionary Letters included in the book:

#14

are you prepared to hide
in yr home a Mexican meaning
an indigenous American from
south of the Gadsden Purchase,
prepared to follow the call of
post-Empire, a post-colonial
way of being in the world
think of yourself as Cascadian
first, still pay taxes but renounce
this war (these wars) & the next
& the next & realize it’s all one
violent endless occupation (here too)
& all mammals are equal but some
more lizard-brained than others & these
the ones shot-calling for the
oligarchy. You wanted national
health insurance & now settle
for a non-toxic biosphere & a way out
for your progeny. Wood-chopping, candlelighting,
water-bringing, kale-growing, offgridding,
prayer-making everlovingkindness, yes
somehow even to “them.”
