Dear Friends and Family,

A reading based on Winter in America (Again, an anthology developed in response to the 2024 election by poets Katie Sarah Zale, president of the Arizona State Poetry Society, and Paul E. Nelson, founding director of the Cascadia Poetics Lab, will take place in-person and via Zoom on Monday, July 21, 2025, 7:30 p.m. PDT, at the Sacramento Poetry Center (SPC). Greg Bem, founder of Carbonation Press in Spokane, WA, published the anthology last January. Patrick Grizzell, president of SPC, will be our host, and a discussion will follow the reading by 12 poets, each reading two poems from the anthology. Given the number of readers and the discussion period, there will not be an open mic for this event.

I have attached a write-up of the anthology, excerpted from SPC’s July newsletter, Poet News. Here is a list of the scheduled readers, the Zoom info, and SPC’s address:
