PAUL E NELSON

It’s that time of year again when I get to read some poems backed by a Jazz band led by my friend & Subud brother Jim O’Halloran. This year he has an impressive lineup and I am the only poet. Bradner Gardens is the jewel of the Seattle P-Patch system and the sky is usually quite spectacular before the evening ends. I will be reading from my Still in Cascadia project. These are from a poetics inquiry into the foundational elements of the great Abstract Expressionist Clyfford Still and his time in the Cascadia bioregion. I am in Denver and it is quite an experience.

Bring a picnic, or bottle of wine and a chair or blanket and enjoy. The band is always fantastic and Jim has exquisite taste in improvised music.
