Pete Vogt has invited me to read from Cascadian Zen on Saturday, October 24, at his place near Twisp, WA. The Okanogan is a magical part of the world and he’s also lined up Jason Wirth, Deborah Poe from the anthology and Sierra Golden and Greg Wright. Pete loved the anthology and there is no question in my mind that this book is getting better with age. Yes, we’ll have copies for sale.

At the beginning of the process of editing Cascadian Zen, I did not have a regular Zazen practice, but developed one as the project went on and it has been life-changing.  Zen has had an enormous influence on my work since the book was published in September 2023, so I will likely read work written more recently than the poems in Cascadian Zen.

I am grateful to Pete Vogt and his interest in and support of this work. And Jason Wirth and Deborah Poe are two of my vary favorite writers in this town, so hanging out with them is a real treat. We need more treats these days, eh?
