PAUL E NELSON

Jim O’Halloran, the flute player and Subud brother with whom I have collaborated for at least sixteen years, wrote this yesterday:

I’m delighted to be returning to  Bradner Gardens Park again this year on Saturday, August 9th 6:30-8:30 PM.

The address is 1730 Bradner Pl. S.; Seattle WA 98144.

I believe the first concert was in 2005, so twenty years with a COVID break…

This year the band includes  Brian Monroney on guitar, Kelsey Mines on bass, Jacques Willis on drums, and me on flutes.

We’ll be joined  by our returning special guest poet Paul Nelson, and dancers Alia Swersky and hannah rice.

You can expect some high-level playing by great musicians on tunes you may not usually have the opportunity to enjoy. Bring a blanket and picnic or snacks! This is a free concert. Donations are gratefully accepted. Many thanks to the Bradner Leads for their help! In other news, my recording project is nearing completion.  Lots of great players playing amazing music.  I expect it to hit the streets early 2026. I will be reading poems of resistance to the MAGAfication of USAmerca. We just ended a three stop tour for the new anthology Winter in America (Again, with readings at the Lopez Island Library, Finnriver Farm & Cidery and the Columbia City Gallery. The readings exuded joy and community which are key elements in fighting fascism. Hang on to your joy. The Bradner Gardens concert has all this plus the quintessential Seattle setting of this beautiful P-Patch garden. Please bring a chair and picnic items and buy a copy of Winter in America (Again.
